Yad Hashem: 9/11 & Beyond

This past Friday morning, we launched a new speaker series initiative that will present students with a monthly inspirational guest speaker on seasonal and thematic topics. With the 21st anniversary of 9/11 this Sunday, the topic this morning was Yad Hashem: 9/11 and Beyond. The boys were addressed by Mr. Moshe Moskowitz as they sat spellbound listening to his powerful recounting of his 9/11 experience. He shared how he was miraculously saved and his subsequent strengthened path towards religious Judaism that followed.

Mr. Moskowitz eloquently spoke about the value of maximizing our every second and how each experience in our lives is a demonstration of Yad Hashem to be utilized in further developing our relationship with Him. “Hashem has a plan for everything, yet sometimes it takes a long time, even years, to see it.” Mr. Moskowitz encouraged us all to never take anything for granted and for each of us to strive to be the best person we can be.

After a series of insightful questions from students, the boys filed past Mr. Moskowitz and thanked him for the inspiration. The comments that many shared as they passed reflected the fact that a strong, positive impression was made and the messages deeply resonated with everyone. May we all merit to use this morning’s presentation and each month’s life-long lessons in our daily lives as we both approach Yamim Noraim and every single day after.
