Inspirational Connection with Israel
On Wednesday morning, we hosted a Zoom discussion with former RYNJ staff member and parent, Mrs. Cindy Wiesel. The family moved to Israel in 2015 and lives in Efrat. Her son, Avishai (a former RYNJ student), is currently serving in the IDF and her son-in-law was called up for miluim on Shabbos. There were two themes that she focused on: reassuring our students through strong emunah that life continues, albeit under challenging circumstances, as well as offering chizuk to them by inspiring them to maintain their davening and acts of chesed on Israel’s behalf. Her powerful dvar Torah reminded us to turn to Hashem in times of trouble for help, chizuk, and salvation.
Students were able to ask many questions about daily life, the atmosphere in her community, security and protective measures, and the safety precautions that are taken. Although Mrs. Wiesel spoke with hundreds of students, she touched each individual student with sensitivity and encouragement.
