Heroes of the Holocaust

This week, Middle School students participated in two meaningful Yom Ha'Shoah programs. First, they learned about several courageous individuals who sacrificed to help save Jews during the Holocaust, such as Nicholas Wonton, Raul Wallenberg, Irena Sendler, Chiune Sugihara, and Oscar Schindler. The engaging presentation by Rabbi Joel Cohn of IsraED, "Heroes of the Holocaust," used rich geographic and historic background to enhance the students’ understanding of the impact of these righteous heroes had upon countless Jewish lives and the many generations that emerged since.
