Bright Beginnings, Strong Foundations

Dear 6B Parents,

This morning's התחלת גמרא program designed to celebrate our students' embarking on Gemara learning for the first time was entitled, "Bright Beginnings, Strong Foundations," and we humbly feel that it encapsulated the theme of both the program in particular and the year in general quite well. In your son's Middle School experience thus far, we have worked on creating a bright, vibrant and encouraging atmosphere of opportunity in all areas of their academic progress, religious and personal growth and social-emotional development. While the beautiful davening this morning was a testament to the growth of our boys since they joined the Middle School minyan, their active learning was a demonstration of their broad gains in learning a subject entirely unknown to them just three months ago. The inspiring words of Rav Moshe Tzvi Weinberg were so appropriate as we continue our pledge to nurture the neshama of each of our students so that they internalize the incredible value each one represents. The strong sound of Kol Torah from the parent-son chavrusa learning that followed was truly remarkable. It was difficult to make the announcement to bring it to an end. The engaging and exciting Chromebook activity was a phenomenal way to bring the program to a close - with sincere and energetic enthusiasm for meaningful learning.

We are thankful to you for coming out; for partnering with us in a phenomenal learning and bonding experience for everyone. As noted at the very beginning, may today and every day's learning serve as an aliyah for the neshama of Rabbi Dovid Kaminetsky zt"l for whom we dedicated this program, and may we all continue to share in the pride of our dear students.

In proud partnership,

Rabbi Avi Bernstein

Principal, Middle School Boys
