8B in DC
Dear 8B Parents,
As we head into what will surely be much appreciated Shabbos rest, it is our pleasure to share with you some incredible feedback from our Washington DC trip. Although it was "only" two days, as one student put it, "it felt like we were gone for a week." Certainly the nonstop action contributed to that feeling.
From the moment we began davening at 6:30am on Wednesday morning through time the boys stepped off the bus a few minutes to 10pm last night, the seemed to have been a constant flow of positive exchanges and demonstrations of Kiddush Hashem. Even amid challenges such as the traffic to Wednesday night's dinner, the students showed tremendous maturity and resilience. Without comment or complaint, everyone stepped up to the plate, helped out, and we found ourselves back on track.
We take a moment to thank all of the students who showed great leadership in driving the learning and davening over the two days. Thank you to Daniel Zupnick, our gabbai, Benny Cohen for leading the Chofetz Chaim shiur, Noach Spear for ensuring we were covered for Mincha, Maariv and benching; Yerachmiel Birnbaum for his guitar skills in leading the kumzitz, and all of those who shared Divrei Torah - Yaakov Malik, Natan Horowitz, Yehuda Weiss and Eitan Rochwarger.
The DC trip was a resounding success. We are so very proud that our students not only enjoyed themselves, but created one Kiddush Hashem after another throughout the two day trip. While we are certain that the memories will last a lifetime, their deeds will last even longer.
In proud partnership,
Rabbi Bernstein, Rabbi Barrish, Rabbi Geffner, Rabbi Genack, Rabbi Kopstick
