Team-ing with Excitement
As the excitement and anticipation continued to climb ever since last week's postponed date, today's Camp Vacamus trip did not disappoint! From the moment we boarded the bus until the last word of Mincha when we returned, the boys thoroughly enjoyed a phenomenal day that will surely be etched upon their memories as one of their most thrilling RYNJ experiences. From the ruach on the bus, the middos on the fields, and the stream of thank yous as we returned to our home on Kinderkamack, we - and the boys of 6B - have a great deal to be proud of.
Over the course of the day, the boys participated in multiple team building activities that required them to communicate and collaborate with and demonstrate support for their peers. Lead by the Camp Vacamus staff and cheered on by their Rebbeim, the boys were encouraged to complete team tasks while restricted to specific rules that limited either movement or verbal communication. The tasks required teamwork, collective decision making and conflict resolution - skills that impact so many of their daily exchanges. The boys joyously engaged in each activity, cheered on their peers, and grew as individuals and teammates.
Today's wholesome trip, however, is not and cannot be an isolated experience. As we debriefed together before Mincha, we learned a great deal about one another today, and have a great deal more left to be accomplished. "Hopefully, we walk away being better friends, classmates, people, sons and brothers today," was the message. Team building is not an event - it is a constant mindset that we continue to highlight, promote and nurture in the MSB. And we look forward to so many more opportunities to build upon today's fabulous trip.
